Troy Moats, OD
Dr. Moats has practiced Optometry for over 25 years. After graduating from the Illinois College of Optometry, he returned to his native Iowa but found himself drawn further north to Minnesota, where he first practiced vision therapy. After a few years there, he and his young family moved to Louisville. Dr. Moats worked in Carroll County, providing primary eyecare to the surrounding area. He met Dr. Bowersox through their combined interest in helping patients in vision therapy. They quickly learned that they were from the same part of Iowa.
As the years went by, Dr. Moats was given the opportunity to practice in Louisville and be closer to his home. In 2023, Dr. Bowersox approached Dr. Moats to join the team at Bowersox Vision Center. Dr. Moats enjoys providing primary eyecare, including eye exams and contact lens fittings. He also enjoys helping patients with glaucoma, cataracts, and macular degeneration, to name a few things. He is most excited to return to providing the life-changing results of diagnosing and managing binocular vision disorders.
Dr. Moats and his wife, Dr. Shelley Moats, are the proud parents of an awesome daughter and son. They enjoy spending time with their dog and traveling to watch their children play lacrosse. Dr. Moats and his family have called Louisville home since 2006.
